Introduction:

A steampunk story set in the aforementioned year about Edaline ‘Edie’ Harling, an ambitious young American magician, and her traveling companion, a robot named Ziggurat ("Gary" to his friends). Edie and Gary are on an international quest to recover 5 mysterious metal bolts made from the same ancient stuff that Edie’s late father, a renowned metallurgist, used in Gary’s construction. They know nothing about the bolts except that Gary has 5 empty holes in his back, and that all of Europe and Asia’s most dangerous magicians, mediums, and metalmancers seem to be after the same thing; the bolts, or better yet, the robot! What’s the secret of Gary’s build, and will Edie be strong enough to help her only friend? A fantastical action/adventure with humorous twists.
